bullet  Marriage Notes:

I'm not sure if the following census records show Walter D. Arnsberger or another relative from the un-related William Arnsberger that was known to live in Wisconsin. The name in the 1940 census is identical and the birth years nearly match identical. In the 1920 census, the W. D. Arnsburger there, gives his father's birth location as Ohio instead of Pennsylvania, but that was a mistake that his sister Alma also made.

If these do represent the correct Walter D. Arnsburger, then it would appear that he may have been divorced from his first wife, Dora, and that he was remarried to Olive. The middle initials of each wife if "E" so that is the only matching information that I have to indicate that they were the same person. The 1920 census also appears to show what were two nieces but does not indicate from whose side of the family they come. I know of no other Andersons directly related to the Arnsbergers and given that they were both born in Minnesota, I suspect that they may be two daughters from Olive's first marriage to someone named Anderson and therefore should have been enumerated as "step daughter" instead of niece.

These records would also show that Walter moved from the family area of Jefferson County westward to the Minnesota border and settled in Crawford County, Wisconsin.
