Sarah's name was listed as one of the daughters on her father's probate letter in Williams County, Ohio on 5 Jan 1880.

Sarah's date of birth is somewhat of a mystery. Her death certificate and gravestone both give 1837. The census records give mixed dates with none ever being the same. For example, the 1850 census would provide a year of birth of about 1841, the 1860 would give 1839, the 1870 would give 1842, the 1880 would give 1844, the 1900 census which provide an exact month and year was "Dec 1843", and the 1910 census would give 1845.

From this data none of it gives her an age as old as a year of birth of 1837 as suggested by Jerry Arnsberger. I tend to believe the 1900 census when she was already near 60 years old and no longer had to lie about her young age as was so common during those times. She probably gave her true birth date of "Dec 1843" which seems to be about an average year given throughout her life.

And other researchers must remember that the death certificate and gravestone dates were supplied by others, and not directly by Sarah herself.
