NOTE - According to the cemetery records, Mrs. Weedman is buried on the left side of the headstone in place on George Weedman's grave. There is no marker for Melinda. Mrs. Weedman's grave will always be easily found with the existence of her husband's sturdy gravestone next to her.

• Her obituary was published in the Unknown newspaper on 18 May 1928 in Fort Dodge, Ford, Kansas, United States.

4 Mrs. Melinda Weedman died Thursday, May 10 at the Soldiers Home at Fort Dodge. Melinda Darner was born at Zanesville, Ohio, December 5, 1857. At her death she was 70 years, 5 months and 5 days old. In 1880 she came to Hillsdale (Kansas) and made her home with her sister, Mrs. W.D. Cory. In 1882 she was married to George T. Weedman, who died in 1906. To Mr. and Mrs. Weedman was born one child, a daughter, Myrtle M., the wife of Luther Roberts, who died May 28, 1920. After the death of her husband Mrs. Weedman made her home with her daughter and after the death of the daughter Mrs. Weedman remained in the home and cared for the four little grandchildren until in 1922 when her health failed, and she went to the Soldiers home at Fort Dodge. Mrs. Weedman was a member of the Methodist church of Plum Creek and lived a daily Christian life.
