General Notes:
Nancy Kiddo notes he was not married in 1870. Jacob moved to Vermillion County. Illinois. Researcher Charles Lanz records has his birth as 1813 in Zanesville, Muskingum County, Ohio. (per Dannell Hopkins, http://www.geocities.com/danni_74932/)
NOTE - If he was not married in 1870, then who was the Jacob Darner that married Jennie Border in 1869?
More mystery: the will of Jacob's father, Andrew Darner, dated 26 Aug 1857, Sealed 26 Aug 1857, shows wife of Jacob Darner as Jennie Darner. This was 12 years before he was married to Jennie Border. Presumably in 1857 Jacob was still married to Eliza Hull because their daughter Melinda was born in 1858. So how and why did his wife's name suddenly become Jennie instead of Eliza? ----------------------------------------
UPDATE, 28 May 2022 Jacob's wife's name of "Jennie" as it appeared in his father's will of 1857 may be because Eliza's middle initial was "J" which could have been for Jennie. At that time of her life she may have preferred her middle name of Jennie instead of Eliza.
If Jacob did remarry in 1869 to "Jennie Border" is was probably just coincidental that her name was Jennie, the same as Jacob's first wife. ------------------------------------

Marriage Notes:
I have been unable to locate Jacob Darner with either wife of Eliza Hull of Jennie Border in any census other than 1860 when Jacob was 42 years old. I believe that he and his wife stayed in Ohio his entire life except perhaps in the last few years when he might have moved to Illinois probably to be near one of his sons. Maybe this was done to be cared for by one of his children.
At least two of his children, Austin and Mitchell, were later married in Kansas. Austin shows up in Illinois so maybe it was with Austin that Jacob spent his final years. Several of the other children migrated to Missouri.
His first wife, Eliza, either died sometime around 1865 or else she and Jacob were divorced. One source entitled, Colonial Families of the United States, Vol III, has an entry for Benjamin Hull and indicates that his daughter, Elizabeth died 4 Jul 1861.
Jacob had an illegitimate daughter named Eva Idalia Border Darner that was born in November 1861. Jacob was married to Jennie Border eight years later in 1869. Perhaps because of his affair with Jennie Border, his first wife, Eliza Hull, may have divorced him but no records to support that have been found. ---------------------------------------------
Jacob next married Jane Border, daughter of Samuel Border and Margaret Elizabeth McCurdy, on 17 July 1869 in , Muskingum County, OH.2 (Jane Border was born on 19 March 1842 in Sonora, OH,7 8 died on 25 October 1914 in Zanesville, OH 7 8 and was buried after 25 October 1914 in Bowers Cemetery, Zanesville, Muskingum, Ohio, United States 7 8.)
