The WW I Draft Registration Card for Eugene notes that he was missing 3 fingers of his right hand from a "finish joint".

Eugene's exact birth date is a little confusing. Most documents seem to give his birth month and day as 17 November but the birth year varies from 1871 to 1874.

The 1880 Census gives his age as 8 which means his birth date would have been 17 Nov 1871.

The 1900 Census gives his birth date as Nov 1872.

The 1910 Census gives his age as 38 which supports a birth date of 17 Nov 1871.

The WWI Draft Registration Card from 1917-1918 gives his birth date as 17 Nov 1872.

There is a possible 1920 US Census for Eugene after he was divorced but still living in Dayton which gives his age as 45 which would support a birth date of 17 Nov 1874. It is unclear if this is the correct Eugene Darner or not on this census.

Eugene was not found in either the 1930 or the 1940 US Census records.

Eugene's Ohio Death Certificate gives a birth date of 17 Nov 1872.

Eugene's Find A Grave memorial page gives his birth as 17 Nov 1873.
