Elias and Katie's children were not born in Unionville, except for their youngest, Mary. The seven oldest were born on a farm near Lucerne, Missouri. They moved to Unionville in the spring of 1923. The farm, 160 acres, was given to them by Katie's father, William Barkley when they were married.
