  General Notes:

On 28 Sep 1886, he was married to Florence Mary Daughterty, a daughter of Henry James and Drusilla Maria Field Daughterty of Fairchance, Pennsylvania. The Daughterty line of descent can be traced back to the Irish Rebellion in 1798, shortly after which James Daughterty came to America. On her mother's side Florence M. Daughterty Fast's line can be traced to John Field who was born in 1525 and died in 1587. The Fields of the United States claim descent from Hubertus De La Field who was in England within a year or two after the Norman Conquest and in all probability came to England with William the Conqueror.

In 1887 Ephriam Burneldo Fast began the study of dentistry and was graduated from the Philadelphia Dental College in the class of 1890. In the same year he began the practice of his profession in Fairchance which he has successfully continued to the present time. This success may in a great measure be due to his endeavor to keep abreast of the progress of dentistry. He assisted in organizing the Fayette County Dental Association and is a member of the Odontological Dental Society, and the American Dental Society. Dr. Fast has also given much time and energy to the welfare of the town and community in which he lives. He has served various terms as borough councilman and school director. In 1906 he helped to organize the First National Bank of Fairchance of which he has served continuously as a director and for the past several years as president. He is a member of the Central Christian Church of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, and has served as deacon and teacher in the Bible School for many years. He is a member of Fayette Lodge No. 228 F. & A.M.; the Lodge of Perfection, Uniontown; and the Consistory of the Valley of Pittsburgh. He is also a member of the Modern Woodman of America and has served the Camp at Fairchance many years as clerk."
