bullet  General Notes:

At the age of 22, on 12 Apr 1932, Jonathan Rex Fast was married to Elizabeth Ann Moran, daughter of Peter and Rebecca Selby Moran. Elizabeth Ann Moran had four brothers: Wesley, Elbert, Richard and Selby; all of whom died at ages ranging from 84 to 99 years. Her father, Peter Moran, lived to the age of 100 years. The Moran family is probably of French origin, and in America the ancestors of the family had lived in Maryland near Baltimore. Elizabeth A. Moran-Fast's father with his three brothers Perry, Robert and Hezekiah, emigrated into western Virginia by wagon train of their own, taking with them their household goods and a vast amount of fruit trees with which they planted two large orchards. Upon a portion of this land, owned by Peter Moran, Jonathan Rex Fast and his wife began housekeeping. The son of this couple, quoted above, in a reminiscent mood, writes of his mother: My mother in her younger days was regarded as a very pretty woman; but if she had been reckoned homely, I would have called her pretty."
