bullet  General Notes:

Jonathan Rex, eldest son of John Adam and Elizabeth Rex FAST, was born on his father's farm on White Day Creek, Monongalia, 10 May 1810. Here he grew to manhood. He became an extensive and well-to-do farmer enjoying through his entire life the friendship and esteem of his neighbors. A son of his (Jonathan Wesley FAUST) wrote in his old age the following of him:

"My father was unusually active and fond of athletic games. I have seen him turn handsprings, walk a rope, jump straight up and strike his heels together three times before coming down, walk on his hands with his body erect, and do other such things almost innumerable. He was a splendid singer, and on musical instruments such as a fiddle or fife he was considered almost perfect."
