Marriage Notes:
In 1910 Charles and Bess moved from Pittsburgh to Oakmont, PA, where Charles worked as a book keeper for a roofing company. They lived with Bess' sister Edith and her husband, Charles Ferguson, and Bess' mother Kate.
In 1915 they moved to Gary, IN, where Charles found work as the Superintendent of the Gary Screw & Bolt Company.
In 1920, Bess and the children are found living in Long Beach, CA, while Charles was still living in Indiana. Charles appears on the census record with Bess, but he was also on the Indiana census just 7 days later as a "boarder" (renting a room), which implies that he was not in California when the census was taken.
In March of 1921 Charles and Bess divorced. The divorce was turbulent and Charles remarried 5 months later to Georgia Hamilton in Pontiac, MI. Charles left Bess and their children and started a new family with Georgia.
In 1940 Bess was still living in Long Beach with her daughter Lucy and her son Albion.
