While there are yet no birth documents discovered for Laura, on her 1900 US Census she indicated a birth of Jan 1864 instead of the expected Mar 1853, a difference of almost 11 years. Her death record from Cook County, Illinois and her gravestone both indicate 1853 as the year of her birth. The birth year of 1864 from the census cannot be true because her mother had died in 1857.
