Mary married John Lightfoot, son of John Lightfoot and Alice, on 15 November 1821 in Pike Township, Wayne County, OH.^{1 2} (John Lightfoot was born in 1800 in Maryland ⁶ and died in October 1878 in Hebron, IN ⁷.)

The Wayne County, Ohio Recorders Office shows a record of marriage between John Lightfoot of Pike Township and Mary Scrieve also of Pike Township on 15 Nov 1821. Legally joined by the Justice of the Peace, John Smith. Entered on 9 Feb 1822.

The "Porter County Death Index, 1884-1927" database at http://www.rootsweb.com/~innwigs/index.html lists the mother of John Lightfoot, Jr. as "Mary Griffy, born in Ohio" instead of the expected "Mary Shreve, born in Pennsylvania". I don't know if this is just a transcription error in the records of if John didn't really know the maiden name of his mother who died when he was about 10 years old. His father remarried to Atha Ann Walters also from Pennsylvania.
