Died at the home of his son, Leroy R. Fast, in Paulding County, Ohio. Among his possessions, he is said to have left an Indian beaded jacket which was claimed to have belonged to Christian Fast at the time of his captivity among the Indians, and which had been given to Phillip by John Jacob Fast.

NOTE - The 1930 US Census record shows him living with his married daughter, Orpha, in Mercer County, Ohio in April 1930. Perhaps between April and September he moved to his son's house in Paulding County, Ohio which was about 50 miles away.
