   Another name for Mary was Mary M. Ernsberger.⁶

  General Notes:

When Mary died sometime before 1879, she was supposedly buried at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Jones County, Iowa according to researcher Margaret Saville. There is a record of a "Mary Alice McCleary" buried at Forest Hill but the middle name or initial does not match the supposed middle initial of Mary M. Ernsbarger. However, the birth year of 1837 on the gravestone does match with the supposed birth year of Mary M. Ernsbarger. This Mary Alice McCleary was actually Mary Alice McDonald who was married to a different William McCleary in Nov 1866 in Linn County, Maryland.

While the similarities are very close, this William McCleary and wife, Mary A. McCleary are different people. Which means that Mary M. Ernsbarger may be buried at Forest Hill but there is no visible gravestone.
