George married Susannah Shough, daughter of Joseph Shough and Catherine Schissler, on 14 January 1816 in , Fayette County, PA.1 (Susannah Shough was born calculated 2 September 1796 in Berkeley County, VA,7 died on 5 October 1838 6 7 8 and was buried after 5 October 1838 in Ohio 3 7 8.)

"This account is in the family record. George Fast and Susannah Shough were born in Pennsylvania, and moved to Ohio when my Mother, Catherine Fast Fluke, was a babe. Grandmother Fast rode horseback part of the trip, carrying Mother in her arms. Indians were plentiful and the land covered with timber."

Their sons, Phillip and Jesse, and their daughters, Mary Ann and Catherine, all moved to Iowa.
