Mrs. Margaret Ann Spencer, widow of the late Henry Spencer, passed away at her home in Rochester, Iowa on Thursday July 29, 1926. Her death came after a very short illness.

The deceased was born August 12, 1856 in Cedar County, Iowa. Her husband preceded her in death twenty-five years ago, since which time she has made her home in Rochester, with the exception of the last few years. Part of this time she has spent in West Liberty with her daughter, Mrs. I. W. Crees.

Surviving are three daughters and three sons: Mrs. I. W. Crees, Mrs. Emily A. Perry of Davenport, Mrs. Amanda Rhoads of Mechanicsville, Iowa; Charles W. at home, Irwin H. of Mechanicsville, and Andrew L. of Mount Vernon, Iowa all of whom were present at her last sickness and death. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. These with a host of friends join in mourning her sudden demise.

Funeral services were conducted from the Rochester Church at 2:30 on Sunday afternoon by the Rev. A. W. Straub, assisted by the Rev. Merton McKinley, and internment was made in the Rochester cemetery beside her husband.

Margaret Ann (Wymer) Spencer was born August 12, 1856, Iowa Township, Cedar, Iowa, daughter of William and Margaret (Williams) Wymer. At the age of 15, she married Henry Spencer, son of John and Rebecca (Barcus) Spencer in Cedar County, Iowa. After the death of her husband in 1901, she continued to make her home in Rochester, with the exception of the last few years of her life. Part of this time she spent in West Liberty with her daughter. Mrs I. W. (Kate) Crees. All six of her children were present at her last sickness and death. She died July 29, 1926 in Rochester, Iowa. Services were conducted from the Rochester Church with interment in the South West Bethel cemetery near Rochester.
