bullet  General Notes:

Aaron's reporting of his year of birth is somewhat confusing. Only his gravestone reports the year 1853. The various census forms support differing years as follows:

1851: 1860 census, 1920 census
1852: 1870 census, 1880 census, 1910 census, Death Certificate
1853: Gravestone
1854: 1900 census

The 1851 year of birth is questionable because his next older brother, Thomas, was born in Apr 1850 and while 15 months apart is not totally unlikely, just based on the gaps in the births of the other children make this year of 1851 questionable. The 1854 year of birth is very doubtful because his next younger brother, King, was born in Nov 1854. That means the most probable years of birth were either 1852 or 1853.

Both Aaron and King's names were continued on the next page of the census form from the rest of the family but no surname was entered for either of them making it appear as if they both had the Shannon surname. Their ages, birth locations, and the close proximity to their family make this fairly certain that they were Aaron and King Lightfoot.
