• His obituary was published in the Winona Republican-Herald on 21 September 1949 in Winona, MN.

8 Hubert Drugan, 87, lifelong resident of Trempealeau and a former employee of the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy and the Chicago and North Western railroads, died at his home Tuesday evening following a long illness.

Mr. Drugan was born January 3, 1872, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Drugan. He lived in the same house all his life. On October 21, 1914, he married Miss Olive Perkins. For a total of 40 years he was employed by the railroad. He retired in 1939.

Survivors are his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Robert (Elizabeth) Hammond, Galesville, Wis.; Mrs. Brooks (Dorothy) Smith, Galesville; Mrs. Lewis (Evelyn) Jessessky, Trempealeau; and Genevieve and Loretta, at home; two sons, Hubert Jr. and James, at home; one sister, Mrs. Ella Schmidt, Trempealeau; two brothers, Arthur and Francis, Missouri, and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Bartholomew's Catholic church, Trempealeau, the Rev. Robert Hanson officiating. Rosary will be said at the house at 8:30 p.m. Friday. Friends may call Friday at the Smith Funeral home, Galesville.

1 Hubert Drugan, 77, died Tuesday in the same house in Trempealeau in which he was born and where he lived his entire life.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Drugan and married Olive Perkins Oct. 21, 1914. He worked for a total of almost 40 years for the Burlington and later the North Western railroad retiring from service for the latter in 1939.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Hubert and James, at home; five daughters, Mrs. Robert (Elizabeth) Hammond and Mrs. Brooks (Dorothy) Smith, both of Galesville, Mrs. Louis (Evelyn) Jessessky, Genevieve and Loretta, all at home; one sister, Mrs. Ella Schmitz; two brothers, Arthur and Francis, both in Missouri; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 AM at Saint Bartholomew's Catholic Church, the Rev. Robert Hanson officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery. A rosary will be said at the home Friday at 8:30 PM.

Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Drugan were surprised Saturday evening by neighbors and relatives on their 25th wedding anniversary. Guests present were Mrs. Stan Bortz and Frank Grover of La Crosse, Mrs. Frank Platt of Winona, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Willis of Galesville, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Grover and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hammond and son, Robert Grover and Miss Lillian Grover of Tamarack, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Vandergale, Miss Veronica Baumgartner, Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Perkins, Leo McCarty, Miss Kate La Vigne, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Cowan and children, Miss Mamie Shrake and John Lucas of Trempealeau. Mrs. Drugan was attired in her wedding dress, when as Olive Perkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Perkins, she was married to Hubert Drugan, 25 years ago, October 21 at St. Bartholomew's church by the Rev. Joseph F. Bushman. Mr. and Mrs. Drugan have lived here and recently Mr. Drugan was retired from the Northwestern bridge crew. The seven children are Mrs. Robert Hammond (Elizabeth) of Tamarack , Genevieve, Hubert Jr., James, Dorothy, Evelyn and Lauretta at home. Mr. and Mrs. Drugan were presented with a purse of silver and a lunch was served.
