FORMER WAYNE COUNTY CITIZEN DIES AT WADSWORTH

Sunday at 1:30 PM marked the passing away of Mr. Warren Lightfoot at his late residence in Wadsworth, Ohio after an illness of five months duration; the direct cause of his death being that of complications which followed a severe attack of la grippe.

The deceased was born at Paradise, Wayne County, Ohio, Jan. 18, 1847 where he lived with his parents until 1869, when he was married to Miss Jennie Murray, daughter of the old blacksmith, William Murray, who then lived in the Carr school district on the state road. Mr. Lightfoot after the marriage at once established himself there in the wood-working and wagon making business and continued in that capacity until 1900 when he came to Orrville and followed his previous occupation. In 1910 he moved to Wadsworth, Ohio, where he has since resided, associated with his son-in-law, Mr. Welker Daniels, at farming.

He leaves to mourn his loss a kind and loving wife, a daughter, Mrs. Welker Daniels, of Wadsworth; a son, William L., of Akron; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; also three sisters and one brother.

The services at the home were in charge of Rev. Ettor of the Lutheran church, Wadsworth, while Rev. D. M. Irvin, his former pastor and friend, officiated at the grave, interment being made in the old cemetery at this place on Tuesday. A large number of friends and relatives paid their last tribute and respect to the departed one.

Warren Lightfoot was of a quiet and unassuming nature and his period of illness was characterized by cheerfulness, patience, and resignation to the will of God. He was a good citizen, a kind father and a splendid neighbor. His friends were legion and his wedded life of nearly fifty years was happy, peaceful and contented. He was ever willing to help others and the writer well remembers in his early teens of the hours of teaching week after week freely given by Mr. Lightfoot while struggling with problems in arithmetic and other studies, many times after his hard day's work, his good advice, and his kindly example.

A noble man, passed to be with his Creator. Gone, but not forgotten.

• He was buried on 2 May 1916 in the Orr Cemetery in Orrville, OH.

Warren's gravestone may indicate a year of birth year as 1848 but this is wrong and should be 1847. His death certificate indicates 18 Jan 1847 and his obituary and the various census records consistently indicate a year of birth as 1847.

She seems to have done extensive research on the Lightfoot family and has more information on the "original" Daniel Lightfoot's wife's family, the Algar/Kennedys. She mentioned in her letter to Yvonne's aunt that she had received much of her information from a cousin, Donna Trapnell in San Diego, California.).
