• He was buried on 12 September 1910 in the Carterville Cemetery in Carterville, MO.

Edward's gravestone is a small flat block of gray granite with a polished top face. The inscription reads "E. V. "Edd" Lightfoot, Dec. 25, 1873 - Sept. 10, 1910". According to the gravestone, Edgar was 36 years old at the time of his death in 1910. His obituary does not give his birth date but mentions that he was only 38 years old at the time. Therefore his birth year could be 1871 instead of 1873.
