bullet  General Notes:

There is practically no information pertaining to Frank Lightfoot. The papers collected by Iris Geraldine Sharer indicated that he was born in Wayne County, Ohio in 1855 but the family had already moved on to Williams County in 1854 so either the year is wrong or the location is wrong. Those papers also indicate that Frank died in Arkansas but no dates or specific locations were provided. The 1900 US Census of Sumner County shows for his mother that she has 9 children living. This would mean that Frank was still alive at the time of the census, thus his death date is "after 1900". The notation that he died in Arkansas is probably proof that he did move with his parents when they moved from Iowa to Kansas. Phyllis Storey-Harrison has supplied me with a picture taken about 1893 in Mulvane that shows Frank standing next to his brother, Luke.

A search of the 1880 US Census records shows only one Frank Lightfoot born in the US in 1855 (+/- 2 years). Note that his birth location and the birth locations of his parents match but unless I have other information that shows he relocated to Nebraska, I cannot be sure that this is the correct person:

This residence was only 3 houses away from where James Watson Arnsberger and family was living. They were 1st cousins but I have no other information to indicate if they were aware of this relationship or if it was merely coincidence. I suspect that they were aware because the relationship of being 1st cousins was so simple and the population density in the area was minimal at the time so it's almost like "everybody knew everybody else".

Likewise, the 1910 US Census shows the following person that appears to be of the correct age, correct birth location, and correct parental birth locations but I have no documentation that would show that he ever relocated to Missouri. The middle initial of M in the wife's name could possibly be May. Regardless, I cannot be sure that this is the correct person.

from Phyllis Storey-Harrison, July 8, 2004:
"Oh yes, I found another reference to Frank Lightfoot. It was 1 Sept 1855 (which I think is his birth) but after his name I have "married May" but I have no idea where I got the information. It is something I put down in the past 15 or so years.

She seems to have done extensive research on the Lightfoot family and has more information on the "original" Daniel Lightfoot's wife's family, the Algar/Kennedys. She mentioned in her letter to Yvonne's aunt that she had received much of her information from a cousin, Donna Trapnell in San Diego, California.).
