John Samuel Warren Darner, well-known blacksmith of Jefferson, died at his home in Jefferson this morning at three o'clock after an illness of eight days, aged 72 years. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Sarah (Werking) Darner and one son Z. Preston Darner at home; one daughter, Mrs. Harry C. Summers, Jefferson. The following brothers: Henry S. Dayton, Ohio, James C, George F, Jefferson; Charles B. Middletown; William E. Frederick; Calvin, Hagerstown; and one sister, Mrs. Rufus Smith, Springfield, Ohio.

Mr. Darner was a son of the late Henry and Mary (Edmonds) Darner, of near Jefferson. He was born near Jefferson and farmed for three years, later becoming a blacksmith which trade he followed for many years until his retirement three years ago. He was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church and Jefferson Council 127, Jr. O.U.A.M.

Funeral from his late home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment in Saint Paul's Lutheran cemetery. Mr. Etchison and son, funeral directors. The services were conducted by Rev. George H. Seiler, assisted by Rev. Atvill Conner, pall bearers, all nephews of the deceased were Dr. Laren Darner, Frederick Darner, Alonzo K. Darner, R. J. Darner, Louis Darner, Frank Darner. Services were conducted at the grave by Jefferson Council 127, Jr. O.U.A.M.
