The birthdate in my [James and Martha McMullen Robinson] copy of the History of the Bowman Family authorized by resolution passed at the Bowman Reunion 1905 has the 3rd digit of her birthdate written over, so can't tell if it's a 5 or 6 [1753 or 1763].

• She was buried after 23 November 1826 in the Ellsworth Cemetery in Ellsworth, OH.

Section A Row 08. Name incorrectly spelled on gravestone as Katherine instead of Katy. Family members insist that her name was Katy otherwise Katherine would be confused with her sister named Catherine.

Her gravestone which not only incorrectly gives her name as Katherine instead of Katy, indicates that she died on Nov 23, 1826 and that she was 63 years old at the time of her death. That would place her birth year around 1763, which would be impossible because it would mean that she was only 11 years old when she was married in 1774. Instead, the gravestone should state that she was 73 years old at the time of her death, and that would place her birth year around 1753. And that would mean that she was about 21 years old when married.
