  General Notes:

There is some question as to her true middle name. A few researchers indicate that it was May in honor of her mother. Many others indicate that her middle name was Elizabeth because the official Iowa county records show it entered that way. Her marriage record indicates Marie. There is a birth record for her daughter, Ruth, which shows that Ruth's middle name was Leibeth and that her mother's name was Leibeth. This could be a transcription error from the original records and perhaps their names were Lizbeth or Elizabeth. More documentation is needed.

After being married in Burlington, Iowa where their first 3 children were born, George and Mary moved to Denver, Colorado where they remained for several years and were enumerated there in the 1910 US Census. Their 4th child, Hazel, was born in Colorado. But by 1920, the entire family had returned to Burlington, Iowa where they were enumerated in the 1920 US Census. Mary died in 1932 and George was soon remarried.
