NOTE - This census shows Esther Lightfoot as head of household with 1 male under 5, and 2 females 30-40 years old, which most likely included one of her sisters, either Annie or Sophia. Annie was recently widowed in 1832 and her 2 children were about 20 years old and probably living on their own. Her other sister, Sophia, would be married later in 1840.

The interesting point is the inclusion of the "1 male under 5". Later in the 1850 Census, Esther is living with her sister Catharine and her husband, Luke Corker. That 1850 census shows a young male, age 12, with the name of John W. (B)ook (the handwriting is not clear about the first letter in the last name). I believe that this John W. may have been an illegitimate son of Esther's which is why she lived separately from the Lightfoot family household. It is not clear what happened to Esther when Luke and Catherine moved to Cedar County, Iowa sometime between 1850 and 1870. I can find no record of her in Cedar County so I believed that she may have stayed in Ohio.
